Xinyou Super Sponge Filter XY-380

Description
The Xinyou XY-380 Aquarium Sponge Filter is an air-driven aquarium filtration system designed to provide mechanical and biological filtration while promoting water circulation and oxygen exchange. Its large porous sponge traps suspended debris, uneaten food, and fish waste, while providing a high-surface-area habitat for beneficial nitrifying bacteria that help break down toxic ammonia and nitrite as part of the aquarium's biological filtration cycle.
Powered by an external air pump, the filter draws aquarium water through the sponge using airlift action. Its gentle water flow makes it suitable for breeding tanks, fry aquariums, shrimp tanks, and aquariums housing delicate fish that may be stressed by strong currents. The reusable sponge is easy to maintain and helps support stable water quality when cleaned correctly.
**Directions for Use:** Connect the filter's air inlet to an external air pump using compatible airline tubing. Place the filter fully underwater and switch on the air pump to begin filtration. Before first use, soak the sponge in aquarium water for approximately 5 minutes to help release trapped air. During maintenance, gently rinse the sponge in removed aquarium water rather than untreated tap water to preserve beneficial bacteria.
